Smart beads are amazing in jewelry designs. The silicone lined beads grip the chain preventing the bead and chain from sliding around. Cable and rollo chain work the best with silicone lined beads because the links have a uniform diameter. A good tip when working with silicone liners is to use jewelry chain that is .1-.2mm thinner than the size of the inner diameter of the silicone lined hole. This still prevents the bead from sliding but keeps the silicone lining from shredding under a chain that is too thick. The silicone will eventually wear out over time, but don’t use too thick of a chain and limit the amount of space the slider bead needs to travel to protect it longer.
