Halstead is celebrating its 40th Anniversary! Watch our video story now.
Halstead is proud to celebrate its 40th anniversary of service to the jewelry trade. The family owned and operated company provides wholesale supplies to jewelers around the globe.
The firm was founded in 1973 by Tom and Suzie Halstead. In the early years of the business, Halstead sold finished jewelry as well as findings and gems in Phoenix, AZ. The retail store grew into a national mail order catalog company over the next decade. During that time the company evolved to focus on findings and supplies for jewelry artisans instead of retail jewelry.
Halstead has flourished through widely varying industry trends, metals market swings and economic conditions. The company imports product from countries all over the world but 30% of the product line is still made in the USA; more than any other country of origin.
The Halstead family is proud to run a workplace that treats employees well with fair pay, profit sharing, health insurance and retirement benefits.
The firm launched the Halstead Grant in 2006 as a way to give back to the artistic community by awarding a grant each year to a new silver jewelry designer and entrepreneur. The company is currently accepting entries for the 8th annual award of $5,000 in cash, $1,000 in supplies and industry recognition.
Halstead is now managed by one of Tom & Suzie's daughters, Hilary Scott, who joined the firm in 2002. The second generation of leadership is poised to take the company forward for many years to come. Please watch the three minute Halstead anniversary video above to learn more about our story.
